My Real Estate Story
Everyone has their own unique path that has led them to Real Estate. Mine is a bit unique which is exactly why I’d like to share it with you.
My first introduction into Real Estate was during my sophomore year in college. A professor had recommended the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” written by Robert T Kiyosaki. It took me a few weeks to get the book and when I finally started to read, it was one of those books I couldn’t put down. I finished the book and went online to find out there was a whole series of Rich Dad Poor Dad books. I ordered and read just about every one of them and knew I’d be a Real Estate INVESTOR someday.
Fast forward to college graduation and the start of the “real world” for me. I didn’t want to rent because I viewed it as a waste of money and the Government just happened to be giving out credits to first time homebuyers…Perfect Timing. I ended up purchasing a 2 bedroom condo in a very nice city that I knew could easily rent out once it was time to move. Best of all, the Government made my down payment because of the tax credit and I even had money left over to do light cosmetic work.
After the condo purchase, a few more years had passed and I was reengaging myself into real estate investing. By this time I was married, purchased a home, and did in fact keep my condo and rent it out. My thought was why not get a Realtor License and save money on the commission side and get access to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). I took the classes, passed the test and was officially a realtor in June of 2014.
I had a few friends and family interested in either buying or selling their home. I agreed to work with them even though I really only had my license for investing purposes. Much to my surprise, I fell in love with being a realtor. It is an amazing feeling to help guide buyer’s and seller’s through one of the largest financial and emotional transactions in their lives. My business is built on the principles of being honest, reachable, caring, and informative.
The success and impact I’ve had in these few short years have led me to make a life changing decision…Real Estate Full Time. To quote the great actor Jim Carrey, “You can fail at what you don’t want so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.” I look forward to meeting and getting to know each and every one of you that has taken the time to read this. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
